The October meeting of the Madison County Democrats Central Committee will be held on October 24 at 6:30 pm at the Sports Page Restaurant in Winterset (back room). Please feel free to arrive by 5:30 to order off the menu and eat as a group. The meeting will begin at 6:30 and will aim to be done by 8:00.
You all know our Congresswoman, Cindy Axne, who has been fighting the good fight in DC for Iowa’s 3rd District (us!) since her election in 2018. But did you know Madison County has strong ties to another rockstar democratic congresswoman?? Rep. Katie Porter of California, who recently became internet-famous for her brilliant exchange with JP Morgan’s CEO, Jamie Dimon, about the real-world implications of low wages, is the daughter of Liz Porter — as in Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting. She grew up in Winterset!
On Saturday, November 2nd, you have the opportunity to meet and support both congresswomen here in Winterset at the Madison County Historical Museum from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. The event is hosted by DCCC, Vicky Brenner, Molly Clause, Julie Feirer, Marianne Fons, and Kayla Hawkins. We welcome you to RSVP to become a Guest ($25), Friend ($100), Sponsor ($250) or Supporter ($500). If you RSVP online, notice there is a blue link above the buttons for the amounts, indicating that you can allocate amounts to one or both Congresswomen. You can also contact the number provided for Camille on the poster below, or call Vicky Brenner at 515-229-1529. We look forward to seeing you there!
