The public is invited to meet and greet Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, democratic candidate for President, at the Northside Cafe on Saturday, July 13th at 10:00 am. RSVPs are not required, but if you’d like to sign up they’d appreciate it. This is the registration link.
Madison County Fair, July 17-21
The Madison County Democrats will have our building on the fairgrounds open during the fair, with a variety of fun activities and guests being planned. Join us each morning at 8:15 for a cup of coffee with friends, followed by a Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 am. A different guest will be featured each day with a short message and time for Q&A. Just bring your lunch from home or buy it from your favorite vendor at the fair and bring it to the Democrats building to eat. Yes — 11:00 am is early for lunch, but we’re trying to beat the heat! At 2:30 pm each day, stop by for an ice cream social. Everybody needs a mid-day ice cream break! And on Friday evening at 6:00 pm, we’ll welcome Montana Governor Steve Bullock as our special guest for a meet and greet.
In addition to these events, we’ll be selling our “Ride Blue” bandanas, blue kool-aid and lemonade. We’ll provide a charging station for electronic devices inside the building, and we’ll have a special twist on “Change for Change” with jars representing each candidate — including Donald Trump. Special thanks to Elizabeth Hoenig for these awesome coin-collecting jars!
RAGBRAI, July 22
Since we’ll be all set up at our building during the fair, and RAGBRAI is stopping overnight in Winterset the next day, we’ll have our building open to meet and greet with visitors from noon to midnight on July 22. Lots of people will use that area for camping, so we think it will be a great spot to offer a charging station for mobile devices. We’ll also have bike stickers and “Ride Blue” bandanas for purchase.
Monthly Meeting, July 25
Our July meeting will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 6:30 pm in the back room of the Sports Page restaurant in Winterset. Attendees are encouraged to gather at 5:30 to eat (order off the menu and pay individually) before we meet.
